Maasai Village Tour from Moshi

This Moshi Maasai experience offers visitors an opportunity to learn about the culture, traditions and contemporary life of a Maasai community in northern Tanzania. The day trip travels through the landscapes between Moshi and Arusha to a community near the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Your local hosts will introduce you to the organization of a traditional homestead, commonly known as a boma. You may learn about family life, livestock management and the social importance of cattle within Maasai communities. The exact programme depends on the host community and activities taking place on the day of your visit.

The experience may also include demonstrations of traditional beadwork and explanations of how colours and patterns can carry cultural meaning. Community members may discuss local plants, inherited knowledge, clothing, food and the Maa language.
