DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

At 7:00 AM, your driver/guide will collect you from Nairobi. En route, we’ll traverse African savannahs dotted with local homesteads, entering Masai country. Keep your eyes peeled for herdsmen adorned in vibrant wraps as they tend to their cattle.

Tsavo West awaits, a stunning park boasting a captivating blend of plains, bush, woodlands, volcanic formations, and lush riverine vegetation. Our game drives commence, offering opportunities to spot iconic wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, ostriches, and buffaloes. As lunchtime approaches, we’ll pause for a refreshing break before delving back into our exploration. A visit to the park’s rhino sanctuary awaits.

Tsavo West is also renowned for its vibrant avian population, including migratory birds such as African skimmers, yellow bishops, goshawks, weavers, starlings, kingfishers, hornbills, herons, and many more, adding a splash of color to the landscape

We’ll rise early to witness the magnificent African sunrise, a magical moment when the landscape and its inhabitants stir to life. This tranquil time in the park, with the cool and still air reflecting the first light of day, is truly special.

A highlight of Tsavo West awaits: Mzima Springs, an enchanting oasis teeming with wildlife, exotic fish, crocodiles, hippos, and a variety of birds. Embark on a guided walk along the verdant shores, immersing yourself in this serene landscape. Afterward, we’ll embark on a relatively short drive to Amboseli Park. Mount Kilimanjaro will serve as your guiding beacon, leading you to this renowned reserve bustling with wildlife. Prepare to be captivated by the sight of free-ranging elephant herds parading past, with the majestic silhouette of Kilimanjaro providing a picturesque backdrop to their journey.

Rising early at Amboseli offers the chance to witness the majestic snowy summit of Kilimanjaro, weather permitting, providing a breathtaking start to the day. As we enjoy breakfast at our accommodation, we will be surrounded by dramatic vistas, setting the scene for an unforgettable experience.

Embarking on another mid-morning game drive, we will search for iconic wildlife such as elephants and lions, relishing the encounters along the way. As our time in the park ends, we will embark on a final safari, hoping to add a few more animals to our sightings list.

Returning to the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, we will make our way back to Nairobi, with an anticipated arrival in the late afternoon.

When is the best time to visit Tanzania?

Many travelers ask us when the best time is to visit Tanzania. The answer is … there is not one right answer. It depends on what you want to see, where you want to go, your budget, and your interests.

  • Dry Season (June to October & December to February): These months are ideal for safaris and beach visits due to the pleasant weather and excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. However, expect higher hotel rates and more crowded parks and attractions.
  • Mid-Season (March & November): This period offers a balance of moderate hotel rates and fewer tourists. The weather can be variable, and some attractions might have limited availability (due to rain), but you still get great wildlife sightings and a more relaxed safari experience.
  • Wet Season (April & May): Perfect for budget-conscious travelers, the low season features the lowest hotel rates and the least crowded parks. The heavy rains make the scenery vibrant and lush, but travel plans can be affected by the weather.
